Thank you for being a mentor! ​
- Provide a general schedule of the day/week and work hours to the Langara student.​
- Orient the student to important school policies and procedures, safety plans, and I.E.P.’s as needed. ​
- Provide regular opportunities for feedback and reflective conversations. ​
- Schedule learning opportunities as you see fit: shadowing a couple of different EA schedules; staying in one classroom only; working in multiple classrooms. ​
- Some mentors encourage Langara EA students to complete a journal or short, objective notes about the day to share with the mentor. ​
- Optional: Near the end of practicum, set up a mock “EA On-Call” day.​
